Save the date –CRS course materials on climate change available now for fall 2015
This fall, the CRS Faculty Learning Commons (FLC) will focus on “Climate Change, the World’s Vulnerable, and the Demands of Justice.”
With the December 2015 intergovernmental climate talks in Paris around the corner, a papal encyclical on the environment due any day, and attention on climate change like never before, the fall CRS Faculty Learning Commons will provide faculty with ways to add a global climate dimension to most any class. Faculty can expect resources on the history and context of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, moral and theological voices on climate change, and not least significantly, views on how climate change is impacting the most vulnerable overseas.
Check out the fall FLC sessions here:
- Session 1: The Road to Paris and Beyond - A Primer on Climate Change Policy, Action, and Ethics; Monday, September 21, 2015 to Friday, October 2, 2015 (dates are for online discussion and webcasts)
- Session 2 - Climate Change in the World’s Most Vulnerable Places - Innovations in Adaptation; Monday, November 2, 2015 to Friday, November 13, 2015 (dates are for online discussion and webcasts)
As always, the fall 2015 FLC will offer a variety of resources for insertion into any class - multi-media course materials, a discussion guide, webcasts (live, but also recorded), and optional online discussion. All you need to do as an interested faculty member is “engage” (aka sign up for) a session on our FLC website. Once you sign up, you can use the resources in your syllabi free of charge, including the live webcasts, in any way you would like.
